About

Jonathan Peace is the author of four crime novels set in 1980s West Yorkshire, including Dirty Little Secret and 'Til It Bleeds. His work has been praised for its atmospheric setting and psychological depth.

He is now at work on his first speculative fiction novel — a near-future thriller set in a transformed Yorkshire where civic democracy collides with forces beyond comprehension. The project draws on his lifelong fascination with dystopian futures, Adrian Tchaikovsky-scale world building, and the question: what happens when a community votes itself into something unrecognisable?

When not writing, he spends time with his wife Lucy and their two cats.
